Out On Stage - How to Make Queer Theatre

After three years of writing and research and interviewing many leading queer theatre practitioners, Out On Stage was published by Nick Hern Books on June 11th. Read more here! Out On Stage has been written for anyone interested in queer theatre and is packed with examples of the queer theatre that has been made by Martin and his partner Andrew McKinnon over the last twenty years. It also covers a wide range of work made by other queer male artists, lesbians, trans and non-binary artists and more. As such it is expected to be a standard reference work on the subject and a guide for anyone new to the business of making queer theatre.

Among the varied contributors to the book are Neil Bartlett, a stalwart of queer theatre for many years, leading trans artist Travis Alabanza and lesbian theatre maker Ursula Martinez. They and a host of others contribute a fascinating introduction to the queer theatre world.
